NCMF and Tagum City LCR Empower Muslim Solemnizing Officers Through CRASM Issuance and Conference
To highlight the celebration of the 36th Civil Registration Month among Muslim Tagumenyos, the Office of the City Civil Registrar, in coordination with the Tagum City Muslim Affairs Office, called for a Conference for Tagum City Federation of Imams on February 9, 2026 at J.V. Ayala Hall, Tagum City Hall Complex.
To capacitate these Imams who are also Solemnizing Officers, Sheik Rodelon Galacio shared spiritual insights on Muslim marriages and CCR Editha G. McCartney discussed solutions on the common issues pertaining to the registration of Marriage Certificate and Conversion to Islam. Hon. Ciara Isabelle Uy-Salazar, also graced the event as she delivered her Message of Support to the attendees.
On the same event, National Commission for Muslim Filipinos XI Regional Director Arch. Sherrila Porza Sawah, assisted by City Muslim Affairs’ Executive Assistant IV Renante Q. Paduran and Executive Assistant III Jeanilyn C. Lopez, awarded to these Solemnizing Officers their respective Certificate of Registration of Authority to Solemnize Marriage (CRASM) issued by the Philippine Statistics Authority.
This CRASM ensures that Muslim marriages to be performed by these Solemnizing Officers in Tagum City and across Region XI will have a legal binding pursuant to Presidential Decree No. 1083, also known as the Code of Muslim Personal Laws, and other pertinent laws.
