36 Imams and Ustadz from Davao del Norte Apply for CRASM
To institutionalize Muslim marriages in Tagum City, the Office of the City Civil Registrar, in collaboration with the Office of the City Muslim Affairs, partnered with the National Commission on Muslim Filipinos (NCMF) and the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Davao del Norte, to organize the “One-Stop New/Renewal of Certificate of Registration of Authority to Solemnize Marriage (CRASM) and Conference for Muslim Solemnizing Officers” held on November 05, 2025 at AVR 5, Tagum City Hall.
In this activity, the NCMF, headed by Regional Director Arch. Sherrila Porza Sawah, and the PSO Davao del Norte, represented by Registration Officer I William J. Baranggan, were housed in one place to facilitate the application for new and renewal of CRASM. This one-stop activity aimed to provide convenience in the processing of CRASM among Islam solemnizing officers and to prevent the none and late registration of Muslim marriages.
Simultaneously, a conference was held to capacitate Imams and Ustadz with updated laws relevant to their duties as solemnizing officers through the various topics discussed:

This one-stop CRASM registration is an initiative of the City Government of Tagum, which was initially launched on March 2023, wherein the CCRO and CMAO assisted the Muslim solemnizing officers to process their CRASM.
This shared commitment ensured the timely and proper registration of Muslim marriages pursuant to PD 1083 and civil registration laws. Indeed, this initiative stands as a testament to the City Government of Tagum to value the union of our Muslim brothers and sisters as they bond in marriage.
